Been away from these forums for a while whilst abroad, so catching up with this sad event in mind.
What a year of losses. I worked with Bowie and spent a lot of my teens / 20s in his company. That really hit me back in January and the missus and I visited some of the old haunts the weekend after he died. Some truly lovely places, not what you would expect.
Prince was such a talented musician on many instruments, a seriously amazing guitarist as well as a writer and (not exactly my taste) singer. But he was one of a kind that transgressed genres, rock, funk, blues, soul etc. Sadly, he will not be replaced. I adore the artists that are not stuck in a genre - thank god Lenny Kravitz is still with us!
So, this year, starting today my "Little Red Corvette" in my profile pics is going back on the road after a long lay up.
RIP his Royal Purpleness.
