As you may know I am a gadget freak. I love gadgets and buy them but don't always understand the technology. Anyway, a question for
technobuffs.
I have just bought a Fitbit. I have paired it to my Galaxy S4 phone without any problem. It also syncs no bother. Not the same with my iPad. I've downloaded the Fitbit app onto iPad and cannot get it to pair or sync with the Fitbit using Bluetooth. I've googled and googled. Turned iPad off and on, same with Bluetooth and it still won't pair. Any ideas what could be wrong? iPad pairs with other devices.

I have to manually select in the settings menu with my iPad and a speaker dock. Will never connect on its own.
Hi, thanks. I've tried that. Won't connect at all.

Which model ipad? I have an early ipad 2 and its getting to the point where its more useful as a place mat as it is 'old' technology!
My daughter has a keyboard which has an app. My ipad2 won't connect to it wirelessly, my wifes newer ipad mini does.
Our fitbits will only connect to one thing at a time namely our Z5s think you will have to choose which one to connect and stick with it

Think it's an issue with the Apple 'stuff'.....the security features only allow them to 'bluetooth' with an audio accessory or wireless keyboard.
That was certainly the case several years ago, which was when I put my iPhone in the bin & bought Android....!!
As your Fitbit is already paired to your phone, if your phone is nearby when trying to connect to your iPad it won't like it! Turn the bluetooth off on your phone, and try again.....assuming that the security aspect permits it!
