Where have they disappeared from? If it's the Mail app on your computer then it's set up to only show ones up to a month old. They will still be there if you log in to hotmail or gmail via your browser.
I lost 3,000 emails and 400 contacts when I was hacked. I'm with BT. I opened my email and my In box was empty. So was my Sent mail and all my folders. It was as if I'd been burgled. I'd been alerted by friends calling me early in the morning, they'd had an email saying I'd been mugged and asking for money. BT was excellent, the person at the other end helped me change my password (the hacker had set up blocks) and we saw the hacker had set up a forwarding email, which she deleted. I got everything back, bar the most recent 2 weeks.
But..... I have a friend who downloaded Windows 10 and lost her emails. It's a known problem so there'll be an answer on Google which is less scary than my being hacked. (But said friend took Windows 10 off.)
BIG mistake! 'Older' computers can't handle the newer version.
If this is your situation, uninstall it and go back to your old system...
'To access this, open the Start menu and select Settings. Click the “Update & security” icon and select “Recovery.” You should see a “Go back to Windows 7” or “Go back to Windows 8.1” option. Click the Get started button to get rid of your Windows 10 install and restore your previous Windows install.'
Thanks, I have been using 10 for quite a while with no problems until this. I have transferred some of my sent items to my inbox which will do. as they are mostly about sites and dates for September. I need to know where I am going and when.

You are simply incorrect. SOME older computers cannot run Windows 10 but mostly they will actually run better than 7 or 8.
