Our TV reception has got steadily worse over the last couple of weeks, we only watch about four hours a week so not the absolute end of the world but annoying all the same.
The aerial is in the loft (listed house think that is why it is inside, done before we moved here) so technically it shouldn't move. We have retuned the TV several times and there is no improvement.
Not sure if there is anything we can investigate or if we should just get someone out.
Thanks, we have done that daveyp. We will buy a new cable first though, thank you I am not sure we would have done that.
We just can't work out why it would deteriorate when it is inside. Thinking back it probably was after those pretty strong winds a couple of weeks ago, but it is in the loft space (with a booster switch).
As Dave says, but also check connections of cable to aerial itself. Naturally, if the aerial is (unavoidably) inside, that alone will degrade reception, but has there been any construction or growth of tree(s) in 'line of sight' of the aerial i.e. where the aerial is pointing? A long shot, but always a slight possibility.....
------------- What's the difference between a chicken?
No idea jaiash - they look fairly inexpensive though so worth a shot.
There is a switch just below the loft hatch that says 'booster' so presume it is up there!
Not a lot of room up there, it is an old house and the upstairs ceilings go up into the roof curve. I am not sure we have even been up there yet (well I certainly haven't)
Thanks Bernie, I have filled in the at800 online form to see if it could be caused by 4G. Our TV is now unwatchable - it has got worse over the last two weeks.

Well, at800 replied and it isn't a 4G problem, so I think we are going to buy a new booster and a new cable - big spend (not).
Try a booster from Argos. If it doesnt improve, take it back under their returns policy. Even better spend
------------- It'll work out in the end!!!!
I didn't do it !! Nobody saw me do it !! You can't prove anything !!
Mike, we had already clicked away at Amazon and the booster is here, in the box still. Late home and it can wait another day.
Arthur, don't even go there , we actually bought a TV in November after not having one for nearly 30 years because our daughter asked for one. The novelty wore off when she realised that she couldn't select what she wanted to watch a la iplayer and because she hasn't been in the habit it is generally ignored.
However, we live more than a mile down a track and our broadband reception is rubbish so it could come in useful I suppose, in the depths of winter maybe.
We bought the Apple TV thing so stream iplayers if I download something when I am out.
The new cable came today, not perfect but a big improvement when I switched it on to check.
