I wondered when the Express would roll out its annual "we're going to have an ice age winter" story. They certainly ran them the last two years and in general their long range weather predictions are useless. To the point that if they predict a hot summer - buy a coat!

(Last year at this time they forecast the coldest winter for 50 years...)

Most of this tosh originates (usually) from one Piers Corbyn and if that name sounds familiar its because he is brother of Jeremy.

It helps to realise that the Express markets itself to a largely elderly market. So its diet of wonder cures for age related ailments like arthritis, positive stories about house prices (so their nest egg is safe) and weather stories plays well.
