Sadly - no. The first enema produced very little and the second had no effect. I think its a call to the doctor again today, he can't keep taking time off from work.
Where to go for colonic massage? I'll get kiwi fruit today, it will make a change from prunes!
Well my dad was told no blockage after he was eventually admitted to hospital literally hallucinating with it all and by this point had overflow, he had been back & forth to the docs for a while. My brother & I went in outside of visiting and sat with dad refusing to leave until we had witnessed a doc examine him after it had gone on a few days and there the blockage was! He had the bomb, no idea what it was but it literally unblocked itself pretty much immediately after that, we er obviously left that bit to the lovely nurses!!
I hope you get sorted soon as it seems to also be going on too long!
Once things settle down again...
The smooth working of the bowel depends on a balance between fluid, roughage and exercise.
And only taking laxatives as a last resort.
He can't stop smiling! Lots of rumbles and not at all normal yet but such a relief to know that its coming to an end. I didn't notice this post had so many views! We do enjoy a bit of toilet talk don't we. Photo's
So glad he is feeling better - though he might have a relapse if he realises what a hot topic his innards have provided on the forum! Seriously, a lot of useful info has been shared.
A tumbler full of fresh orange juice a day not only boosts your vitamin C levels, its also good for keeping your bowels regular and more comfortable to go to the toilet.

Thank you all. Funnily enough we decided today that it was orange juice that kick started his system. Could be coincidence but after having some he got the urge!
A couple of weeks after this he had a colonoscopy and the pre med cleared him out completely and he soon got back to normal. He'd developed back pain during the last few weeks and had various x rays and scans and has been diagnosed with Osteopenia. Also, due to a vigilant GP who was checking his blood he was referred to Haematology and has now been diagnosed with Myeloma. A tremendous shock to us and the last couple of weeks have been filled with many hospital visits for chemotherapy and blood tests etc. Hubby is exhausted and will be off work for the next 3 months but we are extremely grateful to our GP who got to the bottom of this so quickly - combination of constipation, back pain and abnormal bloods are markers for the condition but most GP's don't come across Myeloma during their career so diagnosis can take much longer.
We have joined a support group and are feeling positive about the future and hoping we can get back to camping eventually.
