Sad news, police released a statement saying he died in an accident after going missing in 1991. They reported to have found a significant item that was in Bens possession when he disappeared.
Awful isn't it, why these people couldn't have come forward earlier, poor wee chap and also now his family, closure is what they wanted, but is it so sad
I'm finding this incredibly difficult to understand. If it was a genuine accident why didn't the guy just get help? Ben was just a few weeks younger than my son when he disappeared and it was a difficult time back then imagining what his parents were going through. I've followed the stories and rumours and possible sightings over the years and have been amazed at the strength of Bens mum, in her never ending quest to find her son. Now, to be told that he probably died as the result of an accident at the time he disappeared and that her searching over the years would never bring back her son back must be beyond agonising.
While I suppose we will never know the mans reasoning in why he didn't admit the accident, so we can't even try to understand, I feel so much anger towards him and towards the person who came forward after he died, I'm sickened by their lack of action at the time 😢
Kerry and her family have spent the last 25 years looking for Ben. If the man had come forward she could have tried to put closure on what happened and tried to move on and come to terms with Ben's passing, but she has lived in hope for the past 25 years hoping Ben would be found alive.
