Hello all you Scots and Scotland fans. My Parents were enthusiastic caravaners in the late 50's , early 60's, and with my 4 siblings and I we had many memorable trips North of the border. Dad had a Standard Vanguard and a 4 berth Palladin caravan and a Buckta Falcon tent for myself and my 2 Brothers ( Sisters and parents in the van, when this was possible, otherwise all in the caravan for overnight stops in Lay-bys, Dad had adapted it !!). My parents were adventurers and we never stopped anywhere for more than 2 nights.
Dad wouldn't go in August so the Easter Holidays it was. We went all over, Fort William, Loch ness, Inverness , Glen Affric, John O Groats, Smoo Cave, Durness, Ullapool, The Caingorms, Glen Shee, Edinburgh.
I've been back several times since, out of season, and the weather has always been ok, especially on the west coast, and remember... there's no such thing as bad weather.. just the wrong clothes
Haste ye Back

Then you, like I enjoyed the joys of the NW Highlands with a van in single track days! All added to the excitement! I know progress must happen and it's great for local communities and if it gets more people to appreciate our wonderful country and meet the real people, then that's good too.
