I have been lucky enough as a teenager to have a music teacher at school who was an ex conductor of of the London Philomonic Orchestra, and along with some of his friends, regularly put on shows at the Derby Playhouse, and got the pupils trained up throughout the term to put on a Gillbert and Sullivan Christmas show. Most of the lead roles went to the A Level Music students, with some real good talent that went on to have careers in the music industry themselves.
During the 5 years I was a pupil, we put on Iolanthe, Mikardo, Pirates of Penzance, and finally, after this teacher retired, South Pacific, which he returned to conduct the orchestra but handed the full production over to a new Drama teacher who's speciality was Dance.
I have seen many of the London shows performed on board Cruise ships to a high standard by the Headliners theatre company, including The Lion King, which was fantastic, followed by Grease, The Buddy Holly Story, Olkahomer, and an afternoon performance of the Play Abigales Party.
Unfortunately my disabilities no prevent me from attending tiered auditoriums, so it's a rare occasion that l manage to get to see any live shows. There's a great little theatre in Hunstanton with a good programme of shows and concerts to suit many tastes, but again the access to this lovely old building prevents us from attending.

We're off on Friday night to see 'War of the worlds' as well. Second time! it's great - I hope you like some real rumbling bass Mucker. You using the pro and ride?
Oops, forgot about this, until I saw your photo in the Dec. Comp!
We took a late afternoon Red Arrow Non-Stop Bus, and had a meal in Nott'm first, then the night bus back, after a few drinks.
The Arena was good, The show was fantastic! I particularly liked the fact that the seats trembled when the first pod landed! The sound/acoustics seemed bang on to me, though I'm no expert!
Looking at your photo, Jaiash, you were on the floor seats in front of the stage. We were high and left of you. The view was good if not great, with a little neck ache involved, LOL!
The whole performance and cast were tremendous, and would highly recommend it. I can see why you went a second time, Jaiash!
7,maybe 8, for the arena, but a full 10/10 for the actual show.
Bloody Brilliant!

We used the Clifton Park and ride tram and likewise had a meal in Nottingham first. Yes, floor seating - have to, to guarantee enough leg room as my left leg doesn't bend much. That's two performances in 8 days - went to see Franki Valli at the NEC the week before.
