Do any of you lot out there have and use an actifry thingy and how do you find it,,are they any good and what does the stuff come out like.
Thinking of getting one but not if they are a waste of time and money.

Hi David,
I don't own one myself but my son has one.
If you like traditional taste of fried chips without the fat apparently they are great for that.
Apparently ,he's not happy with the quality of the unit.
He also said when he looked at reviews there were quite a few negative qualities on reliability.
Might be worth checking out some reviews sites.

Yep we had one, for 4yrs, we liked it but when the motor went we didn't replace it, the turning thing broke twice though, £24 to replace!

Got our first one seven years ago - brilliant! It's surprising just how many things can be cooked in it - however, the gearing that turns the paddle got a little worn and thus a little noisy, so we bought another two years ago, and the first was retired to Cyprus where it gets used when on holiday....

Don't buy the Tefal one!!!!!!!!

My parents have had two Tefals, to our one Delongi one.

And ours is still going strong....

Proper chips without the fat content etc...

WE have one at home and one in the van makes great chips, cooks cakes, stews, stir frys and more , Broke the paddle it cost £5 including postage to replace.
Makes very good crisps as well and you can add how much salt you want.

Probably not a lot of help to you but I've two separate sets of mates who will go for the latest gadget if it says it'll do the trick for what they want; friends quite often do well out of them!! The actifry was one (can't remember which brand) I benefited from and I passed it on - don't have chips very often and a hassle to bring it out - don't have much working space. I passed it on and the person I gave it to loved it for two months and couldn't afford a part so it got recycled.

The halogen oven's been great but not sure about the nutribullet thingy. I'm reading up on it and think you should do same about the actifry!

I have a Russell Hobbs Airfryer. Makes lovely chips and also use it to cooks lots of other things in half the time. Doesnt take up as much room as an actifryer. Aldi are selling their version of an actifryer for £59.99 at the moment.

The motor went on ours So we got the Phillips air fryer which is as good if not better..

we have a breville halo fryer and it is really good chips come out like my gran use to make bot only tea spoon of oil used had ours a few years now and no problems
