They store your passwords for you and very secure if you use a decent password. There are a few free ones about but usually you have to pay a small fee.

They also die if you leave them in the freezer.
Please keep your dogs at room temperature!

My seventy nine year old brother updated his iPad the other day.He has not been able to use it since. It will not activate. His seventy seven year old sister(me) has now got it to try and sort it out linked to iTunes on an iMac.I've come up against a brick wall....he cannot remember his Apple passwords. Fine, they will email you a link. Ah! but he cannot remember his password for email. His emails automatically came up on his iPad which will not activate so can't access emails. After an hour or more the other night I gave up.
Fresh day( yesterday) and he found some notes written down in the box the iPad came in.(His son set up the iPad for him.) I'll try again later today and see how far I get. Don't talk to me about passwords.
We are having a very similar problem! I think ours occurred after an update too.
We can't remember the exact ID and password, for sons ipad, that we set it up with, so unless we do can do nothing with the iPad!!! They should make it clear to us less computer literate users that this can happen and how important it is to keep a record of the details. We've used it 3 years with no problems.
