Hi all, my beloved husband passed away a month ago bless him, I can't find his national insurance number anywhere amongst his paper work, could anyone please tell me how I can get this please.

try looking on an old pay slip it will be on that, failing that ring the dss up and ask them for it

Sorry you're on your own now, supertrooper.
I was clearing & filing paperwork recently & stumbled over my husband's birth certificate where I would never have thought to look. We now have a "grab box" like my sister has in New Zealand (in case there's an earthquake), and I'm making sure the important stuff is in there. Thanks for that reminder about the NI number.

Any paperwork to do with his pensions, pay etc should have it on.

Failing that, HMRC have a helpline - it's 0300 200 3500. Try giving them a call.
