I recently updated my Chrome browser and since then I occasionally seem unable to access some pictures and videos on various websites. I believe it is because Chrome no longer supports the Adobe Flash Player because it is deemed to be unsafe. Unfortunately lots of websites still use it.
I even downloaded Firefox which I thought was working to begin with but I got the same problem there so deleted it again. The only browser that did seem to work was I.E which is an awful browser.
Just as an example, in the peregrine falcon thread I can only open one of the webcams in the three links. Utube, which I believe uses flash player works fine.
Is anyone else having this problem? I can't make up my mind if it is a problem with the websites themselves, the browser, or my computer.
Mine was the same Bob.Its been disabled in Chrome.
This worked for me:
Type chrome://plugins in the address bar
Then over on the very top right click on Details
Schroll down to the very bottom of the page and tick
always allow to run in the adobe flash player section then restart your browser and all should be good

Thanks for that, Surfin, but I had already tried that (and tried again just now) and all I get is
This site can’t be reached
The web page at chrome://plugins/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Have you tried this page Bob ? This page
Thanks for that. I checked out that page last night and even downloaded the flash player as it said, but it still didn't seem to work so I deleted the flash player again.
However, I have just downloaded it again and, surprise, surprise, it now seems to be working...touch wood.
So thanks again and hopefully that has solved the problem

Yay! sorted
Yes, not quite as simple as I thought. Firstly, I didn't need to download Adobe Flash Player because Chrome still has it embedded but it means having to enable it on any site I visit that requires it rather than it starting up automatically. If something requires Flash it will either ask, or I have to click on the 'view site information' icon in the address bar and find Flash in the drop down window, then 'allow' it for that site. Once allowed, it will usually work every time I visit that site.
I gather most browsers are doing away with Adobe Flash Player so half the internet won't work soon - lol
Yes I do have 'ask' ticked. I think I tried the 'allow all sites' once and it didn't work but I will try again and see what happens.
I believe that's the bit that has stopped working in Chrome and everyone who has updated to the most recent Chrome now has to do it manually by adding sites to the 'exceptions' list.
UPDATE...just tried 'allow all' and it does seem to work now so hopefully that's cracked it, thanks
