Thanks mini - not sure how I can network with facebook people from that area as it wasnt my local area so if you have any tips that would be great thanks!

I spoke to Esso this morning and they have asked me to e-mail a copy of my receipt and they'll investigate.

I also spoke to my local friendly garage and they said that apart from dodgy/wrong fuel the only other thing would be if the coil pack decided to break down. It would be an incredible coincidence but with my luck who knows.

They are going to have a look at the car for me on Thursday and see if anything is apparent.

Until then, I'm pretty stuck and feeling quite sick! :-(

This happened to me after filling up at Asda, I was convinced it was 'dirty' fuel, enquired at customer services who said no others reported. Car went into limp mode, diagnotics came up as coil pack failure.

Highslayer, I have a fault code reader if you want to find out what is causing the engine management light to come on.

I live in Ferryhill and work in Chester le Street so nearby and, of course, there will be no charge for it unlike a garage... will at least give you an indication as to what the problem is.

Hi - wow that is very kind of you!

I do actually have it booked in up the road tomorrow to look at but if you do have time to pop over that would be awesome.

And - how small is the world? I live in Ferryhill too!!!

My phone number is 07745 526538. It's a publicly listed phone number so no problem me putting it on here.

Thanks again!

Absolutely! What a total Gent and thanks Keith for popping over. Also amazing to find another forum member who lives a 2 minute walk away!

Unfortunately the reader showed there was a fault code but could not read which fault code it was though did clear the warning light coming on.

It's going to the garage in the morning so fingers crossed!

This forum is awesome!
