Ok, arrived in France today, went on my Garmin Nuvi sat nav to change the country to France. Typed in the F,it went straight to Finland. Tried again and again it did the same.
Every other country can be chosen but not France!
Never had a problem before, have done a hard reset, didnt work.
Will probably have to ask at a campsite if I can update maps on their PC, not sure if they will like that tho.
I updated maps in February before a short trip to Belgium.
Any suggestions?
Next, i recorded loads of stuff on my Goodmans Freesat box to watch, put it on tonight and it appears the Library has "gone". The hard drive shows 100%. available??
Any helpful suggestions?

Can you go to the Europe map and zoom in to France then touch the screen for say Paris and see what you have.

Tried that, it just shows the car icon, where we are now , on a France map. When we are travelling, the icon is moving along with us but not on a road.No directions or any thing
Is there a cheap/ free sat nav app I can put on my iphone that will work without wifi/data ?

You can certainly use it with data roaming off.
It you don't have it already, "Film On " is a good TV app if you are on sites with half decent wifi. Most U.K. Telly is on it to watch live.

Just use Google or Apple maps on your phone. If internet is an issue, you can download maps for offline use on google maps.

My Garmin changes automatically as it has Eu mapping. Thought they all do?

I will have a look at navmii.
Yes we do have Film On, for when we have good wifi.
It wont accept any French town names, it uses predictive text and a town with a similar name in a different country appears.
On my Garmin, the default country is UK, I have to type in the name of another country. Previously, when I typed F then r , France would pop up. Now, assoon as I type F , it brings up Finland.
It worked perfectly, driving down to Ashford.
