Hi Wonder if anyone can help, i understand the watts to power idea for electric hook up. But as i have solar power i wondered if there was any caslculation for working out maximum power through an inverter.
   For instance i wish to run an 800W appliance and i have a 1000W power inverter running off 2 225 amp deep cycle batteries fed by 200W solar panels.

This will need cables of between 16 and 25 sq. mm, a switch capable of taking 100A DC and a 100Amp fuse. You'd also want to locate it near the battery and well ventilated.

Inverters are only about 85% efficient, so to power a 1000 Watt appliance the 12 Volt input would be approximately 100 Amps
