Depends where you're coming from. Look on the Chester City web site for park & rides. The one in Sealand Road (west of the City) has an over height area if you're in a motorhome and i think some of the others do too. Otherwise, west of the City, there's the Greyhound retail park and a bus from the main road.
Or there's a park and ride next to the Zoo, which is very well signed. Driving into town is a hassle and best avoided, as they're building a bus station on what used to be the biggest open air car park!
You could park at Roodee carpark which is a long stay carpark next to the river Dee, or could park at park an ride at Broughton or at Chester Zoo which I do for my mandatory training.
