Hi I just wondered what people use to clean their oven with when the instruction book says not to use any harsh detergent or creams ?

I use my wife...but am worried if she is too harsh.

Failing that leave ax bowl of ammonia in overnight, then wipe off.

Which parts can you not clean with detergents? My new ovens have self-cleaning walls and roof (so no cleaners on those) but the floors and shelves can be cleaned with 'normal' oven cleaners if needed. The external parts are 'no harsh detergents' as they are stainless steel - just clean those with a microfiber cloth and water ... dead easy and no streaks!

I keep a drip tray in the bottom of my oven so that no scrubbing is needed, the tray just gets put in the diswasher from time to time along with the removable glass inner door, and the oven shelves. The rest of it is coated with the self cleaning liners stuff, and whenever possible we cover food to be cooked with foil anyway to stop any splattering.

+1 for the drip tray idea. We line our with foil and just replace the foil every few weeks ... :)
