Hi, only recently have i joined this site in the hope of communicating with who I assume to be like minded people, (you know, get away from the rat race, out into the fresh air and back to the reality of nature).
I have read quite a few topics and found them quite interesting, so yeh there's a good chance that it's what I was hoping to find.
On one of the topics I decided to join in and post but was quickly knocked back by another member. Never mind I thought, not everyone's the same. No matter where you live, rural country side or inner city, no matter what you may do for a living or even whether you share the same views, we all claim to be decent honest citizens who deem themselves on being friendly or at least civilised and of a non judgemental nature, so here's hoping that my time here is a pleasant one.
Anyway hi there everyone my name is Kathryn, I'm an "out n' about" person who hates the humdrum of everyday life so every possible chance that we get as a family we tend to try and escape.
Please tell me that I'm on the right site.

Oh fab and thank you, we don't have a caravan we use tent and the more basic the site the better as we wish to teach our little girl that there are ways to survive and provide in life. She seems to be loving it so far I must admit though for the first three years of her life we did use pods instead of a tent just for the shear ease of it. I bet you didn't know that Santa finds you wherever you are and even delivers to pods in the middle of forests. Lol

Thanks. for the friendly welcome duffs54. My hubby and I have been camping since we'll before our daughter was born we don't have much but then again we don't need or want much, just rucksacks packed with necessities, no beds n' all that stuff just sleeping bags for us, apart from the little one, she has "ready bed" although hopefully she will learn to lose that luxury in time, it's just another thing to carry you see. Surviving and providing that's what we do. :)

Welcome to the forums Kathryn, you'll get lots of ideas and advice from here and if there's anything you need to know then just ask, someone will have the answer.

I'm a solo camper/blogger, just me and my two little Jack Russells going wherever we can whenever time and finances allow - North Wales is one of my favourite places (especially Anglesey) and I've just recently had another camping holiday there.

I'm glad your little one is enjoying camping so far - and yes, it's amazing how Santa still manages to find you even when you're on a camp site somewhere

Hey Tigermouse that sounds idyllic, just oneself and your two pooches. We have two Border Collies who love nothing more than open space with loads of things to sniff at or roll in. Lol
I would love to sneak off with my two boys and a rucksack on my back. It just so happens that. the hubby and the little one always manage to tag along and sometimes my elder two children gatecrash aswell!!
LOL I may aswell stay at home for the peace.

We also have a Border collie, we always camp with my SIL she has 4 and another friend joined us this year so there were 7 collies certainly turned a few heads, in France they seem to be a lot happier having more than 2 on one pitch.

Ah right that's interesting, I absolutely love dogs but personally I think Border Collies are THE BEST. They're a little bit of everything, a sole mate, a guard dog, a playmate (if you know what I mean).

Hi Kathryn and welcome.

Our last dog was a beautiful Border Collie who we lost very suddenly to illness much too young. He was only 10.

As we are getting older now, and can't walk as far as we once could, we have a small rescued Aussie Terrier. He just loves coming with us in our caravan, and tends to go out for a sniff, rather than a walk.

Best Regards,
Colin
