To be fair, Trunkles does have a point. Maybe if this OP had been under the heading of "Irrational phobias", we'd have all been listing our own, or those known to us, and we'd be on page 5 by now!
Not sure I have a phobia as such, but of course there are many things I'd prefer not to encounter.
Muckerette has a phobia of "all things large,high and steel"!
Admittedly, she does now try to face and conquer it moreso than in the past. She will now cycle past tower cranes and pylons etc rather than turn around and take a detour... although she does speed up past them, and it takes me 10 minutes to catch her up!
I've showed her videos of the Millau Viaduct... it's on our list, and she will face it some time in the near future, but it's not exactly something she's looking forward to.
She can't stand below and look up at Blackpool tower. I think our future trip to see War of the Worlds on stage is being treated as some form of therapy for her, if I'm honest! LOL!
She also has (a mild?) form of claustrophobia, and in the 31 years we've been together, I've lost count of the number of flights of stairs we've taken together, for her to avoid taking the lift!
Irrational to some, but quite real for others!
