I can only find flights from Glasgow which is not a lot of use, surely there are more?
OH's younger sister was only 3 when they left Donegal and she wants to go there with us. Complicated as we would have to go by ferry (with the hound), and I assume they would want to fly. Have found them a likely looking cottage, we would have to pay an ouchy €30 per night to stay at the local caravan site.
Thanks, costs a bomb and takes forever. Belfast is better, direct flights from Luton, but was hoping for a shorter drive for them in Donegal. They live in Lowestoft.
We went to Donegal in May. Took the ferry Holyhead - Dublin
My sister met our parents in Dublin and they drove. Sister loves driving, but even she said it was a looong way.
On the way back she flew from Donegal to Dublin, then onto Heathrow I think, but it might have been Gatwick?
Parents had rented a house and we stayed on the drive. You may find there's room for you to stay at their holiday home? The houses in the area all appeared to have loads of outside space
Thanks, we will need ehu though, OH won't go without his Sky tv. We will go from Stranraer to Larne and take our time getting there, just need to coincide 1 week so we can show them around, IF it happens, nothing definite yet.
I had wondered what happened to Stranraer since the ferry stopped. Looking on the internet, there appears to be ambitious plans to redevelop the harbour with a college and marina on the old quay. Not sure if the railway station is still there on the quay.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
The town is still ok, we had time to kill at Cairnryan (of course I meant we went from there), so went shopping/dog walking. Shops are ok, don't think the station is there any more, but may be wrong.
Stranraer station is still open and there are still trains to Ayr. The plans for a new station never came to fruition. There is a bus from the station to Cairnryan. Cairnryan terminal itself is a soul less place.
