Especially Cornwall,from experience 5 minutes over in a carpark,which we had paid to use.
The parking gestapo officer would not let us off, even though were just getting in the car!
Had to pay fine

When I visited La Baule on the western coast of France about 20 years ago the local businesses had clubbed together to pay for two or three young ladies to walk around the town feeding the parking meters so that nobody ever got fined for staying over their time.

kit are now becoming a rarity in certain areas of the UK

You should have seen the young lasses in Newcastle on nights out over winter .. hardly had anything on at all ... in the snow and ice .. Was coat weather for us older ones 🙄
