I have an old Aol email account that l have kept since l had my first computer nearly 20yrs ago, its not my main Email, which is with a different provider, but suddenly its stopped working, it wont let me sign in, and new mail, mostly junk mail though, is no longer coming through.

Anyone else having this problem?

Did you not get their email about this happening - about 4 weeks ago and again about 7-10 days ago? I asked you to sign in and confirm access. ( or something similar)

In June last year Yahoo and AOL merged to form a new company called OATH which is part of Verizon! Apparently, because of the new data privacy act Oath decided that, by the 25th May, all AOL emailers would have to agree to the new T&Cs. After that no new email access for old AOL customers unless signed up. Try help.aol.co.uk, go to AOL mail and you should find all the details. If it leads you to sign on then it should bring up the T&Cs screen which you need to agree to to get access. You will need to sign in online. Be aware that they have given themselves permission to analyse all your mail including photos and attachements and anything else "for security reasons"!

It is a bit of a longwinded process to find the info specially since they didn't put the consent stuff up till the 24th!

Thankyou all for the information, l was away around that time with no internet access so obviously missed the email before they blocked the account. Tbh, it was mostly junk mail that came through to that address, so im not too fussed about never using it again in the future.

Basically l just wanted to check that it was not some type of scam.
