Bob will be able to pursue his fishing hobby without leaving the tent.
Just checked again and it looks like it is going to be fine now for the most part. Maybe a shower or two in the late afternoon on Thursday and not until the afternoon on Friday, so I should be ok...just goes to show how the weather forecast changes by the hour. The forecasters might just as well ditch all their high tech weather detecting gizmos and just stand on the roof of the weather centre. If they get wet it's raining and if they don't it's fine.

I am almost embarrassed to say where I went because it seemed to be my idea of a campsite from hell...campfires encouraged and wood sold, groups encouraged, free range kids and free range dogs. However, I thought in midweek there will be no kids and the dogs would be in control of responsible owners and that turned out to be the case.
Petruth Paddocks They advertise it as a 'free range' campsite with few rules although once you start reading the nitty gritty they have quite a few rules, but they are sensible ones like no music after 11pm but you can still sit round a campfire and talk.
There can't have been more than a dozen units on the site while I was there which was probably a good thing because with just two toilet cubicles for men if the site was full there must be a queue a mile long. There was no hot water either except in the washing up area and the wash basins were long troughs where everybody has to stand cleaning their teeth and spitting in the same trough. The thing is, that's what made it a unique and fun site and it was kept clean and tidy but I wouldn't want to go on a weekend or during school holidays.
I had booked two nights but packed up and came home today for no other reason than I was bored and it was a bit dismal as you say. I decided to pack up before the rain. Cheddar seems quite run down from the last time I went there. Many empty shops and a huge hotel at the start of the Gorge lying empty and derelict. I will do a review in due course.
I did have a pretty good night in one of the local pubs though
We've not had a proper drench of rain since the end of April. Yes, April. The grass is yellow. There are regular fires on the moor as the gorse is tinder dry. My trips have been no farther than a 3 hour drive up or down the coast, and we've not got wet this year. Brutalised by midges recently, but this thread is about the weather forecast not the midge forecast.
