I have packed a lamb and chickpea tagine MRE for tomorrow night followed by choc pudding. Wee Tabasco bottle of course and oat blocks. These squaddies eat well.

All good, no ill effects. Good stuff those Wayfarer rations. 👍👍😀.
Don’t touch the Biscuits Brown Ewen, you won’t s**te for a fortnight! Used to swap my BB for the Gariboldi, and the Plum Duff for Fresh Fruit Salad until the newbies knew different. 👍😀.
I was once given a few ration packs from the USMC during a joint exercise at Longmore, they were far, far superior to the rubbish were were given back in the 80s.
They bunged you up for a reason, Mike.
Supposedly they have put mild laxative in the gum. The red sweeties are my favourite.

I always thought they put bromide in soldiers food to curb their sexual libido. I have since been told it's not true but there's no smoke without fire
It’s an old thread you’ve dug up! It’s still true what someone said then - the taste, texture & nutritional value won’t have improved, but if you heat it thoroughly it’s unlikely to kill you.

Not sure if this is the right topic for this section, but I am having a good clearout of my gear, and I have found about a dozen packets of Wayfarer meals of varying recipes.
I am soon to do a bit of wild camping and being a true tight Devonian, I want to use them but they are all a couple of years out of date.
Do you think there would be an issue using them? I am inclined to go ahead unless told definitely different, it is either that or trap some Rabbits, Squirrels or even the odd Otter to eat! Not a fussy fella. 😀
Cheers.
Ps: I once had Tarka Masala, it is like Tikka Masala but a little Otter. 😀
When my father came to England in 2005 from South Africa he brought a case of Fray Bentos bully beef that he had bought in Rhodesia in about 1981. Over time he used up all the cans and suffered no ill effect. Actually a pity you can no longer buy the Fray Bentos bully beef in this country.
