Cotton Traders used to sell pretty good quality clothing at reasonable prices but they now seem to be selling a load of tat.

I have yet again had to send an item back for a refund. I was sent a brochure offering me half price on a waterproof jacket and since I happened to be looking for one I took up the offer.

When it arrived, the only way I could describe it was a thin fleece covered in a bin liner...it was awful.

To add insult to injury they have just refunded me less £6.94. This consists of the original postage of £3.99 plus the return postage on a postage paid label of £2.95. They apparently do not refund postage either way so it has cost me £6.94 just to view a load of absolute rubbish.

It goes without saying that I will not be buying from Cotton Traders again!

ii) Under Consumer Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order with us as long as you do so no later than 14 days after the day on which you receive your goods. You must inform us of your wish to cancel your order in writing either by letter or email, include your name, address and account number. You should return unworn goods to us in their original packaging, wherever possible, within 14 days of informing us of your wish to cancel. If you do cancel the entire order, it is your responsibility to return the goods to us at your cost.
The cost of your order will be reimbursed in full including any standard shipping charges provided the entire order is returned including any promotional gifts that formed part of the original order. Additional Shipping Charges: premium shipping will not be refunded if you cancel or return your order.

Looks like you should at least have had the original postage back.

I much prefer mountain warehouse for stuff that isn't too cheap or too expensive. Cotton traders always struck me as a brand for people who wear stripy old fashioned rugby jumpers with the collar sticking up.

Agree regarding Cotton Traders and no longer buy from them. We also had the hassle about postage which they eventually refunded.

I like to see what I buy so never buy clothes on line that way you can see and feel as well as try the stuff, old fashioned maybe but it works strangely enough.

That's okay if you've got accessible shops, moppetsdad! Some of us are stuck on online!

I've not been impressed by Cotton Traders recently either - I've got a couple of hours on Saturday morning down at Gretna so will be visiting Mountain Warehouse (needing new jacket).

Never had any problems with them,I used to buy their polo shirts but can get them cheaper locally.
I like their rugby shirts,wife buys some things.

I'm a bath rugby fan as such I have a bath rugby cotton polo along with usual bits of kit but I never wear it with the collar up. Makes a man look like Tim nice but dim .   If you pop the collar up on my polo on expensive embroidery it says "bath rugby" underneath and you look like a right nonce

I used to buy from Cotton traders regularly but always waited for their half price sale to pick up some bargains in the airtex type Polo shirts that washed and kept their shape very well. Lately though, l have been put off by the colour ranges and the fact that they now use a contrasting placket which is horrible and spoils the look of the shirt.

My husband used to like their sweatshirts and joggers, but likewise the quality of the fabric used is no where near as good as they used to be, and the knees and elbow areas soon wear through, although l have noticed a decline in a lot of cotton garments of late and the quality of the fabric used in their manufacture with the sly addition of a polyester content for cheapness at the expense of comfort.
