Last week I stopped at a tesco petrol station to fill up and on a whim I bought a lotto ticket. It was printed on a long strip of white till paper, the same machine that does the receipts.
When I checked the numbers after the draw I discovered I had matched 2 numbers entitling me to a free lucky dip ticket.
I had no need to go out again last week and in any event the nearest lottery retailer to me is over 4 miles away so I asked a friend to cash it in for me and pick up the new ticket.
She went to Asda & Morrisons & was told by them she could not cash it in there & to take it back to where it was bought.
I emailed Camelot & their reply was that I could cash it in anywhere that sold lottery tickets but made no comment about the refusal of those 2 shops to honour it.
I will try myself next time I go out & pass a lottery retailer.
Has anyone else had this experience?
