Hello! I recently joined on recommendation from my mumma who has been using this site with my dad for years. My partner and I have just been on our first big cycling trip (we cycled 33m from Cardiff to just outside of Merthyr Tydfil up in the Brecon Beacons). We camped for a couple of nights once we'd reached our destination and were very lucky with the gorgeous Easter Weekend weather! We did, however, discover that my tent is long past it's best, and so we're in need of a new one. Hoping to use this site to pool resources with fellow campers and explorers, and contribute to the community as much as I hope to gain! We're both postgrad Philosophy students with a big love of the outdoors despite being city dwellers (there are lots of parks in Cardiff at least!)
Welcome - have fun! There are lots of tent reviews on the site to guide you towards a suitable new tent; the site search facility will help you find great places to stay, too.
My first cycle camping tent was the Terranova Laser Lite, it packed small and very light at just 1.1kg, although a 1+1 person tent, you would have to be quite small to squeeze two in there.
After a couple of years I then got the Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT, although I only used it for solo cycle camping, the Hilleberg would make a great tent for two, materials and build quality are second to none.
Good luck in your search for a new tent.
There is also a backpacking forum on here as well, worth posting on there as well, if you are into cycle camping.
Definitely another vote for the Hilleberg tents. I also have a Nallo and they are superb tents. I have had many tents over the years, but the Hilleberg tents are in a league of their own.
