Great Granddaughters photos from nursery àvailable at a cost of £15 each plus £4.50 p&p. Ordered 4 then received text asking for an additional £4.50 p&p for EACH! photo.
What a scam as I am sure they could all have been posted in one envelope. Refused to discuss this issue over the phone. Preying on people who want pics of kids as many of whom are financially stretched to pay for these. Disgusted.
Already paid for 4 when I was hit with this unannounced p&p charge otherwise would not have bothered. Could not get a refund or cancel order as I was told they had been printed from my order and only needed p&p cost to get them out to me. Trading standards offence perhaps?
tell them, you are going to liaise with the other parents and present a petition to the board of governors, highlighting how they are ripping off the hard working parents, and urging them to use a different company next year.
Often it's done as a fundraiser for the nursery, with all profits going towards equipment or activities for the children, but l totally agree that if all 4 identical photos are posted to the same address then only one postage fee should apply.
Not all early years child care makes large profits, some rely heavily on volunteers and are run as a charity, fundraising is an important means of survival and an asset to the community it serves.

When Mrs.L was admin officer in an infant school, the photos were sent back to the school office and collected by the parents. They could chose to buy them or not, or have additional copies / enlargements made. Most parents would buy at least one copy. Any unsold photos were destroyed. This used to annoy some parents who would try to get photos for free! No way.

My grandson's nursery gives you the option of buying the photos on a CD and getting your own prints. It works out better value and you can have the size that you want.

All our children's school photos have "PROOF" printed across them.
Saved a fortune
I've heard of computer whizz kids getting round this and having the proof water mark removed digitally.....
Please Don't do This, Remember there is someone behind the camera who is trying to earn a living and to pay for all there equipment and costs for taking the photo in the first place. If everyone did this we would not have photographers.
Agree with the postage should only be 1 postage to pay though. Everything else seems reasonable
Reminds me of when I had a small area of my car re-sprayed after a minor bump. They charged me for a litre of the metallic grey top coat, although it can only have needed a fraction of that - but fair enough the top coat shades are fairly unique so they have no use for the remainder. However they also charged me for a litre of grey undercoat! Yet they must be using grey undercoat on nearly half the jobs they do.
Moreover, the price they charged was far more than you would pay for it at a motor factors. I don't suppose they would have looked kindly on my providing them with an aerosol can of grey undercoat from Halfords!
