Hi
I'm not sure whether this is the correct place or not. We are going to North Wales, from Cumbria, next week and have decided to stop off in Chester,(before going to our first site) as my husband has never been before.
Where should we park so we are near the best bits of the town and near somewhere we can walk the Daisy?
We have a transit size campervan.
I'm not a confident driver once I get into strange towns and there seems to be lots of parking.
Any help would be gratefully received. thank you
There are park and ride sites, well signposted.
We quite often stay at CMC Chester Fairoaks site. Its a 10 minute walk to the big Chesire Oaks outlet where you can get fast buses to Chester.
There are a fair few carparks, a big one near the station. Some multistorey so may be to low for your van.

Where they are provided we generally use park and rides - in Chester we use the Boughton Heath facility.
We don't have to drive around the centre, costs are usually reasonable when compared to city centre car parks and you get dropped off right in the centre so no long walks to and from the car park.
Roodee car park is Ideal , 5 minute walk to City centre .
Lots of Motorhome park there .
Cafe with toilets on site .
Nice walks by the Wall and along the River Dee ,lovely place to watch the Boats go by.
Hi. Thank you for the great advise. I have looked at the Roodee car park and it does look in a great spot. I'll check out the Deva retail park also.
I just need somewhere that's easy to get to and easy to get back onto the main roads to continue our journey to Abergele.
Many thanks
I live 4 miles from Chester & would always use the P&R. For a one off the Roodee would be your best bet, but obviously cheaper would be Wrexham Road P&R. The Deva/Greyhound retail park will be a bit of a walk.
