Don't have sat nav but I use Google maps on the phone on the passenger seat if needs.
Becareful you don't get caught using your mobile phone. It is illegal to use a mobile phonevwhilst driving that includes Google maps and so on.

Android Auto sorts that out. Plus if you put it on satellite view at night you get a better impression of your surrounds. Still prefer my detachable Garmin Camper unit on its Brodit clip in the van.
I have all the auto features switched of in the car except the built in dash cam for accident recording but with a gammy ankle I appreciate the cruise control on the cars rare longer trips. The handbook app is neat. Point your camera at the feature & the app gives you the info on it.
Much prefer the simplicity of the van but have retrofitted cruise control (& passenger air bag) & upgraded the sound system & sound insulation.

Only if it is hand held. You can get a holder for a phone that sits on the dashboard so you can see and hear it without having to touch it. However, I wouldn't trust google satnav, my mate was using it recently and it became stuck and sent us round a one way system in a town twice before we realised. We would still be going round and round now had we not realised and broken free!

I am also an automatic convert of several years. I haven't had a manual since before I bought my Mk2 Cortina automatic, and that was decades ago.
Not sure about electric handbrakes as I have never had one. Must admit though, I'm not sure I want one either.

WOW Colin, something we agree on.
Probably find that there is more that we would agree on than disagree, if we tried.

Never dared use a cruise control.
Same here, I have had the car over a year and never used the cruise control, but I do find the heated front screen a godsend on frosty winter mornings.

Not sure what “type” of Cruise Control you have on the Mondeo, but on my VW it is Active CC, absolute worlds apart from the basic CC. I use it every time I am out.
I had a Kuga before the Tiguan, and I also loved the heated screen, I miss that in the VW. 👍😁

Nor me and I have had it on my last 4 cars. I got the sales lady to set up my blue tooth stuff on this car for the phone etc, but no bu**ger has ever rang me, so that don't get used either. I do like the auto dimming rear view mirror thingy, that is useful.Oh and the hill hold function, handy on my semi auto box. Also paddle changers if I want to overide the auto, again handy. I really like this little Citroen of mine. Kia's before, but they want you to service it with them every 10k miles to keep your 7yr warranty.
I've had my new car about 5 months now, and beginning to get used to it ,but i'm not keen on the auto powered tailgate or the keyless entry could live without them ,I do like the sat nav ,dont use the cruise control but I do use the speed limiter. The lane departure works when you dont signal (tried it safely of course) the 'to close to the vehicle infront works (so do my eyes )when some idiot cuts you up.I've not tried the auto braking thing on it ( not brave enough )I'll stick with it for now maybe more selective next time
------------- Its like driving with with the hand brake on and a hole in the fuel tank
Like a few others, at one time I did not use my cruise control, possibly the thought of not being in complete control and crashing into the car in front was a bit of a frightener. About 3 years ago out of boredom on a long trip. What the hell give it try ,and what a revelation it turned out to be, its now used at every opportunity, and is very useful on average speed roads and road works, no need to keep constantly looking at the speedo it just sits there at the chosen speed making driving far less stressful.
I used to use my cruise control on the Volvo all the time. Any long straight road, and every speed restriction. It disengaged automatically if you touched the brake, so never out of control. My Hyundai doesn't have one and I miss it. I keep going to put it on but its not there.
I also miss the Volvo's parking sensors, especially as the Hyundai has a darkened rear window. The ones on the Volvo told me exactly how far away from any obstruction behind me. It had lights, a beeper, and a digital display of the distance. Not bad for a car built in year 2000.
