Hi everyone. I’ve just gone through a divorce and now find myself “skint”. All I have is my German shepherd Henry and my 2013 tourer. To top that off I’ve just had surgery “hto” on my left leg and recovering so had no work or money coming in for almost 4 months. I’m 58 and need a break or miracle. Does anyone know anywhere that I could live for a few months in my van? I currently live in Nottinghamshire. Don’t mind working although all I’ve done for a few years is teach first aid! This country seaside, or abroad, France or Spain. I can only get by ok in those two! I’m getting to where I feel a little down now and realise I need to do something quickly for my dogs sake. We come as a pair. Maybe somewhere needs a warden with a dog? At least only I know he’s the softest GS known to man, but baddies don’t know that when he barks! Any help or ideas gratefully accepted. Hi Bob and welcome, another place to look poss are the online advertising sites, gumtree, daltons weekly etc.

When we were vanning on a cc site this year at a pub they had two permanent vans in the little camping field behind the pub. one was the part time chef plus 2 dogs, the other one was a man looking for a house in the area, both had been there for some time, might be worth looking that scenario.

Work away is a scheme which offers board and lodging in return for some help depending on what is needed and skills offered. Might be worth a look?

What about house sitters, people pay you to stay at their houses, some want you just for security and to live in your own caravan. Most need you to look after their animals.
