A warning to all you folks out there,, I've just had an email telling me the direct debit for my tv licence has been declined and I should set up a new one..

Well since we don't need one because of my wifes age I'm guessing this is a con,,,no I know it's a con   so careful and warn anyone you think might be suckered in by it as it does look genuine.

which is strange coz i havent had a licence for 10 years

I got an email today telling me my online payment for my recently car tax payment had not gone through and asking me for info details ha ha. Firstly I do not tax my car online always at a post office using m debit card and it was done in May 2019, a quick check on the Gov. website shows it is taxed til May 2020, just another scam doing the rounds again.

I had the same email re my tv license yesterday knew it was a scam as my bank statement said payment had gone through

When I get this sort of email I never reply. Instead if I have any doubts at all I go straight to the relevant website and check. Never via the link in the fake email, always direct. I sometimes even use a different browser.
