Welcome back Andy & Ros. I didn't know there were any UKCS meets. Would be interested if there were any not too far from us. Where can I find out?
Have a look at the "Meeting up and getting together" forum
We had a motorhome for the last 12 years and have now sold it and got a caravan
When we had the MH because of OH having walking difficulties we usually had to take the car as well and where is the sense in that?
I suppose we could have towed a small car but where is the sense in that either?
So, back to a nice 2 berth with a big bathroom and that doesn't need tax and test and constant mollycoddling
Anyway we don't like the new motorhomes which are at best ugly and at worst very ugly
hi rat catcher i to have walking problems ok just around the house or at work
but any thing else is out of the question, so we have the caravan and car combo and mobility scooter in the boot of the car for trips into town etc.
andy&ros That's you all set for next season then (unless you are intrepid winter campers of course) It's our first season after the motorhome mistake and our first retirement season as well so we intend to really go for it.!!!
hi ratcatcher
we have done winter touring in the old van but im afraid to say what with work etc our van is now in storage for the winter and i have changed my car to a ranger rover for a better tow match, we will start touring from about march subject to the weather looking forward to chilling out on site and hopefully meeting up with old friends.
Our van is now winterised until spring too, as at our age we don't venture outside any more than we have to during winter. We are not such hardy types as some, and we like our creature comforts. We have to watch the pennies too, so we only go caravanning when we would most enjoy it. In other words, when its nice and warm!
