Just had a very convincing email from "TV Licensing". Tells me my license could not be automatically renewed, and that if I don't keep up the payments, they will cancel the license and pass the details to a debt collection agency. Did seem a bit odd that "you're now covered until 11/13/2019" as this isn't the way we write dates in UK.
So I printed it off, to take into my bank and check the direct debit. And the email address was " at telenet.be". Not dot uk. I've checked the Money Saving Expert website and it's a scam. So if you get one of these, don't click on the link to set up a direct debit.
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I always work on the principle that if I haven't given out my Email address then any like that are doggy and always get binned without even opening them,, the latest are so called supermarket give always which are all scams!!!!
You have to have your wits about you nowadays, I recently had a phone call from the local council saying I had paid too much council tax and was due a refund, he asked for my bank account details, which I refused, he apologized and said that he could send me a cheque, ok I said, then he asked who I bank with, you don't need to know that to send me a cheque, at that point he hung up
Despite all the clues that it's "not right", Which? reports that more than £830,000 has been lost to this scam. (That article was dated March 2019, so the figure is likely to have increased by now.) That's a lot of folk who've been fooled & are out of pocket.
There's loads of them about. I think the last one I had was about an income tax rebate. As I'm on just state pension and haven't paid income tax for several years..............
