I’m not saying that this virus thing is not important or not scary but are the media going into overkill. Not a good choice of word with the situation I know.
Every aspect on the TV, Papers and on the radio are constantly banging on about it.
Yes it’s a serious concern and everyone needs to take precautions but surely just an update every couple of hours would be enough.
The media is mostly to blame for scaring people into panic buying and stockpiling.
Shame on them.
It has taken their attention away from the Brexit negotiations with the EU though.
And Prince Andrew ( no longer HRH ) is delighted that the pressure has gone off him.
Harp on about something long enough and people stop listening.
I hate to think what some of the front pages are going to look like in the morning! Well, we wanted a change from Brexit, the Princes etc - I guess we should be careful what we wish for... *sigh*
Smartgolfer you obviously did not read my post correctly.
The point was the situation is of serious concern but the media are sensationalising
It and not just giving us the simple facts.
The media issue has become a big problem in this country. We have had so many lies and B.S from them over the past few years that they have lost all credibility in my eyes. Now we need them to keep us informed, who do we trust? Unfortunately I don't trust any of them.
For the last few days our local paper has filled its web pages with 'stories' of empty shelves, they are basically sweeping social media feeds and making it a 'story'.
There was another posted this afternoon and a every comment stated what a bunch of blithering idiots worked at the paper and the Editor was an obvious moron.
The 'story' has now gone. I hope that is the last of it.
