I know.of.one man who had a plague of moles in his lawn that took the advice of a few pranksters down the pub, and shoved a gas canister pipe down the hole of one, and turned on the tap before dropping a lighted candle down another closeby, he just about blew.the blooming lawn sky high and himself with it, he was lucky to escape with only minor injuries silly man him.

We once had a mole emerge and get itself trapped on a raised veg patch sleeper bed on a CL we were.staying on in Norfolk, it only looked like a youngster, amazingly dense and soft black fur coat and massive front hands designed for digging, but the tiniest pin head sized eyes l have ever seen on a mammal. Afraid that it would be exposed to other prey animals, we scooped it up using an empty cerial box, and tipped it out into the hedge bottom to continue on it way, never to be seen again during our stay.

Buy a couple of traps and watch some youtube videos on how to set them, its easy enough.

That sounds a good idea. I have filled the hole in now but if it pops up again I will give it a try...plenty of poo on hand...well not on hand, on scoop.

On the subject of Jasper Carrot whose Mole sketch was very funny - another of his funniest sketches which I am sure is available on that tubeythingy is the Insurance claim forms sketch. That was hilarious.

Sorry about the moles Bob61 but as it says at the end of the Carrot sketch on the 12 bore front - ‘there were these blue flashing lights’

The accident was caused by me waving to the man I hit last week. (Jasper Carrott)

He did the insurance claim forms in his live show that I saw 3 or 4 years ago.

Time does fly Colin21. Evidently he is now 75 and has had a few recent health problems.

Just been looking at the tube thingy and found a show he did in Oz about their insurance claim forms - they’re way funnier than ours.

There has been a mole or 2 around my garden once or twice over the years and my cat is patient enough to wait for them to be there
Cat does not eat any insectovore so evidence is left of mole or shrew kills
I have had to dispose of a few bodies before the dogs get them

When I took the dog out for a walk in the early hours of this morning I noticed there had been a little more excavation at the molehill, so I rammed a sharp metal garden cane into the hole. I very much doubt I killed the mole but there was no further excavation this morning and no further molehills. If it continues I will have to spend some time waiting at night with my 'harpoon'

The RSPCA wouldn't dare come near my house or my Westie would bite their ankles!

I had considered belting the mole hill with my carpet slipper which is the way I deal with spiders in the house but I didn't think that would have much effect on a mole...indeed a mole who is into sadomasochism might enjoy it.
