Everyone will be watching the infection figures very carefully in a week or two... the thought of a second spike and tightening restrictions again just makes my heart sink.
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
Yes, the mind boggles as to what these people were thinking about. Having strong views about certain issues is one thing but putting the entire population's health and lives on the line is something else. Why we should put British lives at risk because of an incident that happened in the US is beyond belief. Watch the new infection figures rise over the next few days. I think a lot of people will be regretting their actions over the last weekend when their parents and grandparents end up fighting for their lives.
Ah, but what if there isn't a second spike (or only a small one)? What will that tell us - that the "experts" got it all wrong about social distancing ?
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Tell that to all the nurses and doctors who had to get close to patients to help save their lives, some of those medical people died saving others.
Tell it to all the people who have lost family and friends by getting the virus from others.
I am really lost for words that some people still just don't get it.
I would like someone to explain if its not close contact with people that spreads this virus, then what is it.
Please tell us what you seem to know that the "experts" don't know?
------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.

Wake up UK and smell the coffee!!
I agree, not a good time for mass demonstrations. They held some in other towns where social distancing was observed and no trouble, such as Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton near us.
As for the idiots that decided to walk down the M6 ( some with kids!)
Luckily it wasn't as busy as it usually is or goodness knows what could have happened.
I just hope it doesn't cause an increase in infections.
------------- DS-There's more to life than football!!!
I think what a lot don't seem to realise is that all it takes is one person with the virus to go into a crowd, and it's then likely that a whole load of them will catch it. They then go on to infect many others before they even know they have it.
Just because the "R" number is below one doesn't mean that each infected person can only infect one other, viruses don't work that way. The "R" is an average, and averages can be extremely misleading.

It's remarkable how worked up some people get about a purely hypothetical question.
Very true Capt. Although it was a hypothetical question, (I had to look back to see what it was) the only truthful answer is......nobody knows! Even the experts seem confused, and some of them have very different opinions to each other. How are we supposed to know?
