"could begin to be lifted" is a good start indeed. There are huge geographical variations in the virus figures (Ayrshire & Arran Health Board: 976 cases, 32 still in hospital, 5 in ICU. Compared to Western Isles 6 cases & none in hospital, according to today's gov.scot figures). So it may be that restrictions are lifted in different ways in different places, but that remains to be seen. It might not be feasible or even desirable. And (finally!) including the loss of senses of taste & smell as a Covid-19 symptom may increase the numbers & set things back temporarily. We'll find out more on Thu 28 May, I think.
Of course, this coincides with the end of the sunniest driest spell of weather since records began.

Does that mean that sites will be open?
No.

Whilst great for us moving about the island, there's a considerable amount of concern about how far the relaxation will go as none of us bar key workers and those with medical problems have been allowed off island for two months.
The alarming thought here is, should anyone get the virus, we're likely to be sent to Glasgow - with it's number of cases, not ideal!

thebiz - intensive care is still in Glasgow. We can cope with 18 people on island max if we get hit but that's it. Oban is catering for a large area but even they have to send worse cases to Glasgow, I understand.
What folks who don't know as you do don't understand with the Highlands and Islands is that we have to travel miles to see consultants/get treatment etc. In normal times, pregnant Mums get a choice of Paisley or Inverness if they need a hospital birth - that's why we got so twitchy about people coming to self-isolate. An emergency medevac from Mull to Oban - short hop by helicopter - costs a minimum of £5000 and that figures about three years out of date!!
We do need to mix a bit, but maybe this could be limited trips to the mainland and then isolate and test.

I would expect that the tourism industry will be the last on their list to be freed from the lock-down as most likely the government will see the commercial airline industry being it's first priority in terms of leisure travel for pleasure. Possibly hotels, guest houses, commercial campsites and holiday parks etc. will follow shortly afterwards providing that the UK isn't attacked by a second wave of virus.

Very bad memories, Daisy.
I'm not saying we wouldn't be very grateful for the help, just many of us who are sent to Glasgow for consultant appts., etc. aren't treated very pleasantly by some others when in waiting rooms - not the NHS staff, I hasten to add - because we're not local and taking up time in "their" hospital.

Ive just booked a CL for mid July. The guy told me he has someone enroute from Portugal now to stay for 3 weeks till their house purchase completes. He says its legal, somehow?
