£40,000?? Think there is a couple of 0's missing from that, last time it was announced the figure was over £32M

He raised nearly £33 million for NHS Charities Together. Including Gift Aid, this is worth £38.9m And today more than £20m has been donated to support staff, volunteers and patients, in the first wave of handouts. There's more info on the BBC News app.
We can make a noise at our doorsteps tonight at 8:00pm too.
And donate a bit if we're camping in the back garden or on front drive - there's another Forum for that.

People are not trying to compare as there is no way it can be but this man at 99/100 years old has done something extra ordinary that most people in this country, especially the young, has not done.

Instead of sitting on his backside feeling sorry for himself he has got up and made a real difference.. those hundred laps of that garden would have been like running numerous marathons for most of us and all the people that have contributed to the money he raised have appreciated that.
