Recycling centres in this area are reopening on 1st. June and visiting them is by appointment only. I'm going to town next Thursday so I decided to book a slot to get rid of my garden rubbish. No problem - I could have any date or time that I wanted. Cars or small vans only so I hope I can get all the rubbish in.
The F.M. is announcing any reduction in the lockdown this afternoon. Watch this space.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Hope your tip run goes well! Our tip was letting in three cars at a time only; I had to queue for an hour to get rid of my considerable backlog of garden waste. Glad I did it though. Just spent a good few seconds puzzling over what FM stood for, then remembered you were in Scotland! Am definitely losing it...
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
The one in town that is in the industrial estate near my house reportedly had a queue of 2h long very recently!
They will check proof of address as only certain postcode can use their facilities on certain days of the week, and to discourage from out of towners from getting in.

Our local tip has been open a few weeks now, and they are only letting in 3 cars at a time too. Queued for well over an hour to get in, even though I deliberately left it for about a week after they opened before going. It's cars only and no trailers too.
Ours will also be limiting what they’ll accept - NO electrical goods, white goods, batteries, oil, or soil / rubble. Or things that are heavy - no help for lifting.

That's also the same as ours. They wouldn't accept some old clothes either, as their clothes bank bins were taped over. No help available from staff, but they had no objection to two of us lifting two big bags of garden waste to tip into a skip. Just as well as I wouldn't have been able to lift it that high on my own, and my wife had come along specifically to help.
Once we gathered up all our sacks of garden waste, we found we had almost 60! Our tip opened a couple of weeks ago and my husband had to do 5 journeys to get rid of all our waste over a period of 10 days. The shortest wait he had was 1.5 hours and the longest was 3 hours. I love the idea of booking a time slot so that you don’t have to queue!

Wow! 60 bags! You must have a huge garden. The most we had at any one time was 5 bags and a full wheelie-bin, and our garden is a reasonable size and had been very neglected. Still a lot to do out there however. We shouldn't need to go to the tip again anytime soon though, as the wheelie-bin has now been emptied once and will be emptied again in 10 days time. One and a half of our bags fills the wheelie-bin, so we now have a full bin and two half-full bags.
there was a rush here at first but patience wins in the end. There is a booking service now and the trip to the site is easy peasy. No queues. Just like the supermarkets, people don't really think it through
Ours closes on Tuesday and Wednesday, so on Thursday morning there is always a long queue, often blocking the nearest junction. Unfortunately, it's also the day I do my shopping and the entrance to Aldi is in the same side road. Now I go gently up the outside of the queue, but I do get some filthy looks and also some gestures...
