I was just wondering if anyone knows of any nice smaller sites with EHU which are disability and dog friendly?
I’m a little concerned about erecting my TT alone, and hoping that I would be able to get help if I needed it from site owners, and other campers. From past experience whenever we camped in the past, everyone used to help each other if there was a problem, so I’m hoping that’s still the same.

How far from Merseyside do you feel happy going? Doesn't help you if we recommend somewhere that's too far.

-------------
2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

Someone will always help. Even if its only out of noseyness to see what stuff you've got. (80% of 'assistants').

I found that when camping in a tent, plus being a single parent with two kids was a help!! I could always ask for help and never had a problem, but my kids are much older now and may not always be with me on the trips.

Maybe a bit of a risk on a small site if you really cannot manage to set up camp without help from another person, as there is always the chance that you will be the only camper using the site at a given time. This has been the case for us on a few occasions, especially on the CL and CS type of places. Help cannot always be guaranteed, and not all site owners visit their sites, or live on them on a daily basis.

I would advise booking onto a larger site, and maybe try rallying with one of the big clubs where you know that some degree of help will be at hand should you require it. Also there is a chance that people may be restricted at offering help due to various hidden Disabilities of their own. My OH is a bit like that and painfully shy, he’s not a ‘People person’ where as l am, but I’m also a member of the physically Disabled group, so between us we would be fairly useless at helping with anything Tent related, and gave up using our Caravan awning a long time ago!

I was going to recommend Dalston Hall south of Carlisle but they’re adult only. However, your children may not be coming or they’d have helped.
This site has super helpful family owners, and a former golf course is the dog walk. I don’t know what disabled facilities they have but the ladies showers are wet rooms, no trays, very smart; if there is a disabled washroom, it should be well done.
