Definitely not unique. Every chippie round here delivers. It definitely has to be fish, chips proper mushy peas (none of this tinned nonsense) sprinkled with salt, vinegar, tomato sauce ( on the chips only) and the most important thing which no one seems to have mentioned scraps
I'm not over-keen on anything with my fish & chips, apart from a bit of salt on the chips and a splash of vinegar. I can remember getting scraps at one time around this way, but the local shops don't seem to give them any more. No idea why, it was regular at one time and they always asked you if you wanted them.
All the chippies round here have them. It’s sometimes a fight to get the last ones if it’s late at night. I was horrified on holiday a couple of years ago when the local chippy wanted to charge 50p for scraps. They are always free round here

Don't like anything on the fish and chips except salt, definitely no vinegar. Mayo with chips and tartare sauce with fish; on the side for dunking, never drizzle over as it would make them soggy.
Eat in, or open for eating out in the open right away. Don't like it wrapped as the steam will make everything soggy. Don't like soggy food. So no delivery for me.
I probably look weird and uncool having mine sitting on a bench in a park very close to the chippie in town, much to the amusement of the youngsters who gather there, however I don't care!
Each to their own and all that.
