A remote connection, not a wired one, combined Epson 520 printer/scanner. Tried everything I can think of. Anything else apart from disconnecting and reconnecting?
Just the scanner. Hardly ever use it, but it just so happened that I needed to scan/send some important documents. Ended up having to take photos and email them.
Do you still have the Disc that came with the printer, that could get you going again, also are you using genuine ink as the chips on the third party inks can cause problems.
If you are having major problems getting it to scan, I would try hard wiring it with a USB lead, this often solves many problems.
The unit may need a firmware update, so a visit to the Epson website will do no harm, and might just fix the issue, of course if you are not using genuine ink, that could be detected during a firmware update and lead to further issues.
To be fair I would dump the XP-520 and buy a refillable tank printer like the ET-2750 the XP-520 is a five ink printer, so very expensive to run if using genuine ink.
Epson have a network of independent service centres called “Express Centres” they are listed on the Epson website, so you just pop your post code in, and your nearest one comes up.
Obviously if the printer is out of warranty there will be a charge.
I guess most if not all “Express Centres” will be closed until after 12th April.
