Trying that tonight Mrs Bonce, also ordered a woollen pillow as suggested. If these don’t work I will try the other suggestions. I must find a comfortable pillow and sleeping position.

seems a bit of an odd one,,, but try a few sessions of Pilates, can do wonders for your overall structure, and wellbeing ,, both my Sister[73] and Daughter[33] have had upper body tensions, and have found that it helps release a lot of inner tension and aggravation..

I, literally, feel your pain. I’ve had problems with my neck since my 40s when I needed 2 major ops leaving me with quite severe arthritis.
I had many months of physio as a result and one specialist neck physiotherapist advised me to use a ‘Butterfly’ pillow like this one to get a comfortable nights sleep and I’ve used them ever since.
At the time you couldn’t buy them so she showed me how to make one by putting some wide bandage or ribbon around the centre of an ordinary pillow to make a butterfly shape, so if you want to try it and see if it helps before spending yet more money you could give that a try first to see if it helps. Good luck.

Thank you,another one to try.
I tried the rolled up scarf/shawl Mrs Bounce but I became too hot. That’s another problem, I’m forever turning my pillow over.I’m looking forward to the woollen pillow to try, it might be cooler.I can’t have feather pillows as I am allergic to them.☹️

Mrs B, there is a 'chill' pillow which is very thin and contains gel or water. I had one a few years back...it did keep my head cooler at night, eventually it leaked and my moment had passed. You can get them for pets too.
Re the support pillows, OH has suffered from neck pain forever, and eventually we foiund and bought some pillows with springs in, they did the trick for him. The brand is no longer available, but those gx ones in the last link sound as though they might be similar.

I bought the spring one many years ago but didn’t work for me but thank you. I’ve used a hard and soft pillow for a while and seemed to work but my neck must have gone worse. The chill pillow sounds a good idea.
The woollen pillow from Baaver came a couple of days ago. I’ve had a better sleep for the past two nights. Use it with a thin pillow underneath. Fingers crossed.🤞
