Hello to all on the site, my name is Clifford and am 65 years old. I am returning to the UK after many years away. Last year I purchased my second Motorhome, ( first one was over 40 years ago),
I will be returning to England on the 12th of February and am hoping to find someone who could give me some advice.
Ideally I am looking for a Wardens job or similar as a permanent position.
I would be grateful for any leads or suggestions or, even offers. I can turn my hand to most everything from Building work to Labouring and Office management to F&B and Hospitality. One motto I like is, "Getting old is not for Sissies", and I am not scared of physical work.
Hi everyone, many thanks for all the replies. I shall certainly follow them up.
I am now looking for a pitch for about 3 months in or around either Shrewsbury or Bidston on the Wirral. it looks that most places either do not ope until March or they want prices of £30 upwards ,
Phew thats a £1000 a month.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Welcome to UKCS. The site search is a good start: choose your area & click on what you want, maybe try clicking ‘open all year’. It won’t give prices though (the websites should, see link on the site directory). Both Clubs have Certificated places CLs or CSs & they’re about £20 pn average, but you have to be a member. Most sites limit how long you can stay in one stretch (to prevent full time residential use), so you’ll probably have to go somewhere else for a few days every month - some business people go home every weekend.
Hope you find a job & somewhere to stay.
Hi Clifford Im a Clifford too, but only when I have done something wrong!
My father in law used to get a silly price for long stays on Haven sites, dont know if they still do or if there are any where you want to stay, but good luck.
Try seek out a 'five van' site in the areas you need. Often they are on farms, and often the owners are 'approachable' as regards finding you a pitch 'out of the way' (for the right money), as it were.
