Late to this thread, and so sorry you are going through this, but glad to hear that treatment has started and they are giving it some welly! Good thing too, your caravan awaits.
Hang on in their MissB, you have my thoughts and vibes.
Just to update everyone I’ve recently come out of hospital after a 4 month stay.
Radiation was done on my back immediately. Basically the leisions were so close to my spine there was a very good chance I would be paralysed if they didn’t deal with them there and then.
The cancer had spread into my hip and had basically eaten away the entire socket so I’ve had a very complicated hip replacement . Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t meet the conditions for a hip replacement but it was my only chance of ever walking again. They had to replace the full joint and to find sufficient healthy bone to attach the joint they had to go much higher and lower than normal. Of course I picked up every complication going and at times thought I was never going to get out. However I am now home. My mobility isn’t great. At home I have to use either crutches or a walking frame. Outside a wheelchair or scooter. I have carers coming in to help with personal care.My mobility will eventually improve but it’s going to be a very long slow job and I keep getting told I will need to be very patient.
The silent killer breast cancer which started all this ( with no symptoms) is another matter. Unfortunately once breast cancer spreads to your bones it can’t be operated on. In my case it had spread long before I knew I had it. Currently it’s being kept under control with drugs but I have to have regular monitoring. If it flares up then I will be offered chemotherapy which is the only other treatment available to me.
My long term prognosis is unknown. The breast cancer will eventually get me. It could be a couple of months, it could be 10 years but no one knows or is able to estimate. My immediate concern is to get my mobility up to a level where I can take the caravan away. Once I do that I intend to make the most of life for however long I have left. I urge everyone to do the same. Life is too short to take for granted. Thank you to everyone who wished me well

Thank you for the update. You sound like you are going to live every day to the max. Here's to hearing of your improved mobility and adventures in your van..
Very sorry to hear you had such a terrible time in hospital. You sound a glass half full person and I'm sure that will help a lot in getting your mobility to a point where you will be able to go away in your caravan.
Sorry Miss Baritone, I'm very late to this. Sorry too that you had such a gruelling time in hospital. However, you have a wonderful attitude and I really hope that holds you in good stead for future caravanning trips. Best wishes and please keep us updated regarding your next trip, we'd love to come and join you if we can x

Isnt 'modern medicine' amazing. What they have been able to do despite the odds, and what they hope to do. Hope the hip job works out, and the 'Big C' stays in the background for you.
Not sure i would personally handle all that crap as good as you appear to have done.
