I was in our local M&S foodhall this evening and when I went to pay I got a message that I was todays lucky Sparks Card Customer and my shopping was free!
It would have been amazing but I had only bought a litre of milk and a block of cheese! The same thing happened to me a few years ago as well where I was the lucky customer of the day but I only had a couple of items. Why do these things never happen when I have a full trolley?
I suppose I shouldn’t complain! Better something than nothing!
Sort of thing that happens to me , if I won a cruise it would have been on the Titanic !
I bet you won because you had a small shop and I reckon that a shopping trolley load would be one in ten thousand or something?
Purely computer generated but congratulations anyway
I am almost certain there is less of a random chance and more like some sort of pre-determined criteria have been set, such as the eligibility period e.g. a month on each side of the actual anniversary etc., and the maximum amount of the cart value.
That's just me being cynical.

I'm with dk168 on this one, cynical maybe, but it would be interesting to know what the (average) amount of shopping is which is paid out on the 'winning' Sparks card.
On top of my M&S win, yesterday my husband won £250 on a special savings account he has where there is a prize draw every now and then. We never win anything so we are pretty pleased.
They say good things often come in 3’s so I’m off to buy a lottery ticket 😜
