Wet and windy today. Mrs L drove to the hairdresser in the next village this morning. We live in the high part of our village and the next village is at a similar height. The road between is lower but was passable, although Mrs.L said that the burn running alongside the road was near to overflowing.

The forecast suggests that the rail will stop this evening and the wind will drop to leave a dry day tomorrow. I hope so - Sunday is washing day here and we use the good old washing line where possible.

We’re lucky here in Ayrshire - almost cloudless blue sky & a light breeze; we had a stiff wind yesterday but almost no rain to speak of this week. Of course, that might all change.
I read that some people in Brechin might not get back into their homes until after Christmas (possibly due to sewage contamination, but that’s a guess based on other similar flood events). I’m sure the community will rally round to help, but that’s heartbreaking.

Been wet all day here. Only showers this morning, but it's pouring now. Glad I hadn't planned on going anywhere today. Forecast is dryer tomorrow though, which is good job as I do have to out tomorrow.

A lovely autumn day here in N.E. Aberdeenshire. Everything is covered in soggy leaves, but otherwise no problems in the immediate area.

We were well north of the 'Red warning' but I hope that the residents of Brechin and Marykirk get sorted quickly and back to their homes.

I remember just a few years back when there was severe flooding on Deeside and Ballater (and the campsite) were severely flooded. It took a long time to get things back to normal.

It did. We made a point of going back once the Ballater site reopened, to show support & put some tourist dollars back into the area.

Is that the one by the A90 between Laurencekirk and Brechin? There is a river beside it, we stayed there on our tour of Scotland, very nice site
