Temu is one of many marketplace aggregators. Basically an onljne store for many sellers, they are usually based abroad.
If you order, it turns up and it is to the quality you were promised all fine and dandy.
If you order, it doesn't turn up, it isn't what you ordered, it is of poor quality, or you end up with an import tax charge getting money back or customer service to solve any issues may not be so easy.
Similar warnings apply to many of the online travel sites such as Skyscanner, booking.com, hotels, com, Trainline etc. Setting up a company and immediately having a potential customer base of billions is easy, delivering the promise to millions of customers isn't and the tales of woe I read from users of travel site aggregators are a red flag to me so I don't use them.
The safest way is to buy from known outlet with a UK presence and operating under English consumer laws. This can be done by simply looking at the 'about us' or 'contact us' pages on the website. If these details aren't there definately avoid the company.

Cant agree re booking.com or trainline. Ive used both for years without a problem. On the former, a hotel is a hotel - the vast majority which can be booked privately through said establishment if you wished. Except through bdc, if theres a problem come the time, you can usually cancel with impunity. Trainline: a train ticket is a train ticket (in the UK), and never has a booking failed me.
The online retail sites being mentioned are totally different. They are 'shop windows' for many retailers, where it can all get a bit murky if things dont go to plan after a buying and receiving something physical. These are places i'd never use for the reasons mentioned. Online from known stores; eg Next, Robert Goddard, Frasers - where there are actual stores in the locality - fine. You cant usually go wrong.
